I don't know why other forum members/users take it PERSONALLY that someone is frustrated and angry that this bloody program has so many bugs, or that a musician is trying to create amid all this computer chaos. It's not the SP2 pedal as it's not involved in pressing play or record which causes the virtual pedal to engage It's not the MIDI keyboards as I have tried with both and the problems are identical. It's not the particular VSTi as it happens with different ones AND with 2 separate instances of the same VSTi it does different things, neither of which it should. It's not the MIDI cable as it happens without one even being connected. Same if I open a brand new project and press play. it's not going down because MIDI messages are telling it there is sustain here). How can it possibly be my F.UP that pressing play makes the sustain pedal go down even when I have the track beyond any recorded material (i.e. Let's remember forums only exist because the geeks can't be arsed to take responsibility. It seems it must be Reaper as I wasn't using the SP2 and it was engaging on its own etc. All this was using Pianoteq P6 (latest version, 6.7) so I tried it with Waves Grand Rhapsody and got the same problems. So I opened a new project and briefly it seemed ok but then a different problem occurred that when I use the SP2 it either leads to sustain sticking ON or it just doesn't engage the pedal at all (the virtual pedal doesn't move). If I use ENTER to stop/start the pedal does go on/off each time but of it's own accord, not because I'm using the SP2. In the project where the problem started I eventually realised that when I press play or record the pedal on the virtual instrument was engaging by itself and therefore everything was being sustained as the pedal wasn't moving thereafter when I used the SP2 to operate it. I am using M-Audio Keystation88 and an M-Audio SP2 pedal which until recently has worked ok. My system seems to have developed weird problems with the sustain pedal.
